RPET veggiebag

RPET stands for recycled polyethylene terephthalate, or recycled PET.

PET is the most common thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family. It is a strong, durable and recyclable material that is used for containers of liquids like bottles.

The recycled RPET mesh material is produced under the regulations of Global Recycle Standard (GRS) and is tested by Swiss testing center SQTS (Swiss Quality Testing Services) for food-safety as per EU-regulations. The recycling process undertakes the following 9 steps:

Sorted PET will be collected (#1), shredded (#2) and converted into PET-pellets (#3). These pellets will be used for yarn spinning (#4) and after weaving (#5) the new RPET-mesh (#6) will be washed and dryed (#7). The mesh-material is now ready for cutting (#8) and sewing (#9).

DONE is the veggiebag made of recycled PET.

By the way, PET can be recycled again and again.
